Every parent comes to a time in life where their child wants a big girl or big boy room. Wether they heard about it at school or saw it on tv, its hard to avoid the enviable, they’re growing up!
When we decided to change Ellie’s room into a big girl room, we also decided to change the theme of her bedroom. We kept most of the furniture that we had in her nursery, and are still on the hunt for a headboard and bed skirt. It is most definitely a work in progress.
I wanted her room to still be young and girly, but also something she won’t grow out of for years. All of her furniature is from Pottery Barn Kids/Baby (search Catalina Collection). I knew I wanted to incorporate the color black and gold into her everything has to be pink life. While I was searching the web I came across this comforter and sheet set. You could pair any black and white printed sheet with this comforter and Pottery Barn Kids has some great options.
I store her blankets in a cute wire basket. I found this basket at Home Goods. Unfortunately I don’t have a way to link it but found a similar basket here. Tip: Roll your blankets for a super cute way to display them.
I have to talk about her light! She absolutely loves it and so do I. It is a touch light so she is able to turn it on and off when she needs to with ease. Plus, it comes in the perfect shade of gold. Win Win!
I have also found some super cute pieces for her room at Target. That store is my weakness! You’re always guaranteed to come out of there with something cute, most likely not needed, but cute. The wall decor is by the cutest target brand Pillowfort. Her curtains are also by Pillowfort. Shop this brand and you will be sure to have the cutest big girl room or big boy room in the neighborhood.
Hope you enjoyed a little tour of my daughter’s big girl room! Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips.
All my love,
